Primary Function:

This position is responsible for providing services in support of the E-6B including performance of ground or airborne communications testing, and troubleshooting of all communication systems and established procedures.  Provides technical assistance to the Navy E-6B Squadrons, TACAMO Weapons School and VX-20 as it applies to all aspects of the TACAMO Navy E-6B aircraft communications systems.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation, and validation of operational procedures on E-6B aircraft.
  2. Fly on the E-6B troubleshooting/validating communications issues/resolutions as required and may be tasked to perform the duties as an exercise observer when required.
  3. Capable for operating the E-6B communications suite.
  4. Track and perform trend analysis of E-6B communication equipment performance and discrepancies in order to provide recommendations for system and equipment repair.
  5. Attend meetings, taking and distributing meeting “minutes”, maintaining files and records, and assist in researching and preparation of plans and procedures advice and recommendations.
  6. Ability to work as a member of a team and coordinate tasks of team members to ensure the goals of the project are met in a timely manner.
  7. Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous Naval Aviation Training Operational Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Qualified Instructor.
  • 5 years practical experience in U.S. Navy airborne communications systems and technical expertise in E-6B communications suite voice data and circuit procedures including experience with USSTRATCOM.
  • Pevious qualificiation in the (4) seat positions in the E-6B communications suite
  • Knowledge of E-6B Block II Systems is preferred.
  • Designation as a Communications Watch Officer is preferred.
  • Previous qualification as an “EKMS User” in accordance with the requirements of EKMS 1A for work involving use of communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Knowledge and experience in U.S. Navy communication to include Joint Army Air Force Publication (JANAP) and Allied Communication Publications (ACP), fleet broadcast procedures, and fleet and national and NC3 communication architecture
  • Must have at least 5 years practical experience, within the last 7 years, in U.S. Navy E-6B aircraft mission operations and communications systems mission support, and been previously certified in at least two (2) communication system positions in the E-6B communications suite
  • Ability to pass an annual Navy Medical Flight physical with a Navy Flight Medicine Officer and pass non-Aircrew Naval Aviation Survival Training Program (NASTP) Training for Class Four (4) Aircraft
  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility, US Citizenship.
