Community Involvement

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Long Wave encourages employee volunteerism and community involvement in many ways.  In so doing, Long Wave employees have the opportunity to build relationships within the community, take part in community activities, and give generously to benefit community needs.  In addition to great team building, Long Wave’s participation in community involvement programs allow employees to give back to the community with their time and resources.

The Angel Tree Program

Long Wave employees are proud to have supported The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program this year.  This organization helps over 2,000 metro families receive Christmas Assistance.  This year Long Wave specifically provided gifts for 15 individuals with varying ages and Christmas lists.  Long Wave is proud to support our local community in hopes that all families have an amazing Holiday Season.

Thelma Parks School Supply Drive

Thelma R. Parks Elementary School

As one of its community projects for this year, Long Wave adopted Thelma R. Parks Elementary School.  In May, Long Wave conducted a school supply drive for incoming students and provided collected supplies to the school for distribution to over 200 enrolled students, grades Pre-K through 5th grade.  In December, employees collected hats and gloves for the students and participated in a “Night Before Christmas Reading Circle” where small toys and props were distributed to Kindergartners while an LWI volunteer read and re-enacted Twas the Night Before Christmas with the students.  Long Wave has several additional events planned before the end of the school year, including a teacher appreciation luncheon and volunteer opportunities within the classrooms.
