Job Summary:
Long Wave Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. At Long Wave, we pride ourselves on delivering cutting-edge products and services. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Software engineering teams to define verification approaches and test methods that support system requirements and design validation.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test procedures, and detailed test cases to support verification and validation activities.
- Execute system, subsystem, and component-level testing in accordance with approved procedures and established test protocols.
- Identify issues, anomalies, and discrepancies during test execution and document results through formal discrepancy reports.
- Collect test data, perform preliminary analysis, and communicate findings to engineering teams to support design evaluation and troubleshooting.
- Maintain traceability between test procedures and system requirements to ensure verification objectives are achieved.
- Support integration and troubleshooting activities during system build, integration, and test events.
- Identify opportunities to improve test processes, procedures, and documentation to enhance efficiency and repeatability.
- Support preparation of test readiness reviews, test reports, and verification artifacts for internal program reviews and customer deliverables.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with company standards, program requirements, and applicable industry or DoD guidance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior test personnel when required.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting engineering test activities in a development, integration, or verification environment.
- Experience developing test procedures, executing tests, and documenting results.
- Familiarity with discrepancy tracking and failure reporting tools such as FRACAS or similar systems.
- Knowledge of DoD Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes and engineering development lifecycles.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through written documentation and presentations.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce formal test documentation and reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoD programs or defense industry testing environments.
- Experience supporting system integration, training device development, or aircraft modification.
- Familiarity with requirements management and verification traceability tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo etc.).
- Experience supporting test readiness reviews, system integration events, or formal qualification testing.
- Active or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

- This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
