Navy/Marine Corps Intranet [ NMCI ]
The Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) is a US Department of Navy program, which provides information technology and support services for the entire program. Unlike other methods of outsourcing, which typically revolve around staffing, under NMCI, the government does not own any IT assets used in the program. Rather, they are owned by the prime contractor, and services are provided to the government on a per-seat basis and includes security services, help desk support and periodic technology upgrades. Long Wave, in conjunction with the prime contractor Electronic Data Systems (EDS), provides information technology and help desk support services for NMCI.
