High Frequency Global Communications Systems Programs
Long Wave is currently under contract to the USAF to engineer, furnish, and install transmit and receive HF antennas and replacement coax at 13 High Frequency Global Communications Systems (HFGCS) sites. Under this contract, Long Wave is installing new HF antennas of various types including RLPAs, HOBAs, Aperiodic Loop Arrays, and Dual Mode Spirals including design and installation of both the inside plant and outside plant systems. This includes foundation designs, trenching, lighting, and end to end coax sizing, routing and distribution details. To meet important grounding, bonding, shielding, and lightning protection (GBSLP) requirements, Long Wave will design and install all GBSLP components to meet key MIL Standards. The LWI team has inspected over 243 antennas worldwide. Long Wave has leveraged its considerable antenna and tower installation and inspection experience to provide the USAF with the critical new antenna systems in a timely manner at key HFGCS program locations.
Long Wave’s past performance includes work for both the United States Air Force (USAF) and Navy (USN), predominately; however, LWI has also completed work for customers such as the Joint Interoperability Test Center with the United States Army, ACC Comm Support Squadron at Langley AFB, Pentagon and others. The current USAF Antenna Program Support (APS) contract, spans a seven year period and will provide HF antenna work at all 13 sites worldwide.
