About Long Wave

Long Wave Incorporated is a privately owned small business. Established in 1995 and staffed with retired and former senior engineers from the Collins Radio Company (now Rockwell Collins), Long Wave has grown into a company based upon experience, trust and integrity.

Our name “Long Wave” refers to a radio wave form used in very low-frequency communications. As a government contractor, we provide communications engineering, tower and antenna maintenance and installation, information technology services, training and simulation, and program management services to various agencies and clients. We specialize in military communications and XML-related technologies. Long Wave is a leader in software, engineering products , services and solutions that are as diverse and unique as our customers.

Phil Miller

Phil Miller Phil Miller is the President of Long Wave, Inc., one of only 23 companies in America to be recognized as a member of the Inner City 100 Hall of Fame. In 2006, Phil was personally recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as Oklahoma’s Small Business Person of The Year.

Additionally, he is the owner of the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz AFL team. Phil is a long time fan of the Yard Dawgz. “I feel like the guy that bought Gillette. I enjoyed the product so much, I bought the team”. Phil has brought a long term commitment to the team and to the city. "Our goal is to put a great product on the field and to provide the greatest fan experience possible."

In addition to Long Wave and the Yard Dawgz, Phil is the President and owner of two other companies, Docsoft Inc. and South20 Inc. Docsoft provides custom software development and is an industry leader in speech recognition technology and search services. Phil founded South20 Inc. in 2002. The company is a commercial provider of exotic hardwood flooring and wood-shake roofing shingles.

Phil received his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla.

Phil also sits on several local committees including the Bricktown Urban Design Committee, the Oklahoma Advanced Research Committee and the Board of Advisors for the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE).



Jack Sprague

Jack Sprague Jack Sprague is a native of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He is a retired Navy officer, serving over 28 years active duty. He was commissioned a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) in 1981 after 14 years of enlisted service. He retired from the Navy in 1996 as a Lieutenant Commander, Limited Duty Officer (LDO), with a specialty in submarine communications. He attended Chapman University during his Navy career.

His sea tours included assignments aboard five submarines; USS Raton (AGSS-270), USS Gurnard (SSN-662), USS Haddo (SSN-604), USS Tang (SS-563), and USS Gudgeon (SS-567). He also served aboard the USS Dixon (AS-12), a submarine tender, as the Operations Officer and Navigator. His shore assignments include the Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) San Diego, CA where he was responsible for scheduling all assigned ships for maintenance periods. During this assignment he received SIMA’s Sailor of the Year award. He was also assigned to Submarine Group Five, San Diego CA as Communications Officer; and Submarine Squadron Three as both Operations and Communications Officer.

His Navy awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (4 awards) and various other unit awards.

Following his Navy career he accepted a position at Pacific-Sierra Research Corp (PSR) from 1996 to 1998 as the Navy Communications Program Manager. While at PSR he managed all submarine communication programs and Navy’s special communication projects. In 1997 PSR was bought out and became Veridian Inc. In 1998 he left Veridian and went to Predicate Logic Inc (PLI) as a Senior Communication Analyst. At PLI he continued to manage submarine communication programs and Navy’s special communication projects.

In April 1999 he left PLI to accept the position of Vice President at Long Wave Inc. Mr. Sprague is now Executive Vice President and part owner of Long Wave.

Mr. Sprague and his wife Priss reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
